Ho-hum. It’s always
hard to shake that melancholic feeling that follows the realization that another
Halloween has come and gone. Although my
blog isn’t exclusively confined to the Horror, it’s always fun to devote an
entire month to one of my favorite genres. As I think of upcoming features, however, it’s
time to pause and reflect on the month that just passed. October was a watershed month for Cinematic Catharsis, with two major
milestones: on October 3rd, I quietly celebrated my blog’s second
anniversary, and my pageviews nearly quadrupled, compared to October 2011. Not too shabby. Anyway, I couldn’t do it without you, dear
readers, so I wanted to take a moment to give a big, heartfelt thanks to
everyone who’s stuck with me this long, and as well as those who just recently
started following my cinematic ramblings.
And now for something completely different… I also wanted to
announce that I’ll be returning with my month-long exploration of Japanese
cinema in January 2013, with Japan-uary II.
This has been one of my favorite theme months, by far, so I hope you’ll
join me again as I explore some familiar and unfamiliar territory (and forgive
me as I stumble through cultural misinterpretations). As always, I’m open to suggestions. If you’d like to see me cover a specific
film, or have an idea for a new theme month, feel free to drop me a line.
Stay tuned…
Congrats for this great month of October Barry! Now I can't wait for Japanuary II!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks! I think I have an interesting lineup of movies in store.
