I think Karen Allen's role was just as challenging in its own way, playing someone absorbed with grief Barry P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11251536316431708240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1463671176628323648.post-77429697382898094392022-07-10T22:37:53.309-07:002022-07-10T22:37:53.309-07:00Loved this movie first time I saw it. Karen Allen ...Loved this movie first time I saw it. Karen Allen definitely needed more credit. I think as you say the physical relationship possibly as she wanted to cling onto all those memories one more time. Adding this to my to rewatch pile. You know, the similarities between this film and The Shape of Water never occurred to me before, but they will now. :) Barry P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11251536316431708240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1463671176628323648.post-41355675343395088622022-05-15T11:12:13.908-07:002022-05-15T11:12:13.908-07:00Great review Barry, and very thoroughly researched...Great review Barry, and very thoroughly researched, as always! Starman is a superlative example of something that is all too rare in the movies -- soft sci-fi that emphasizes characters and an examination of the human condition from an alien point of view. Your plot synopsis reminded me of The Shape of Water, which explores similar themes and travels much the same road (and has the same problematic aspects).Brian Schuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08463833554200343247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1463671176628323648.post-83392127119126293982022-05-14T14:17:43.555-07:002022-05-14T14:17:43.555-07:00Thanks, John!
